Live demonstrations of traditional crafts during the Hermann Heritage Craft Exhibition May 20 during Maifest

The Hermann Arts Council invites the public to learn from local artisans and craftspeople as they demonstrate their traditional craft mediums at the Wagon Works building, located at Gutenberg and E. Third streets, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday May 20, 2023.

The Hermann Heritage Craft Exhibition is a free admission exhibition with timeless craft demonstrations open to the public, near other popular Maifest events in historic Hermann. Participants can visit with artisans and learn about their timeless craft traditions through live demonstrations. This is a family-friendly event.

Artisans for the event include:

  • Al Verman – metal forging  

  • Renee Miller – soap making

  • Justin Martin – glass blowing

  • Pat Moore – basket weaving

  • Shannon Brock – paper making

  • Shari Langer – pottery throwing

  • Carole Behrer – false graining and theorem painting

  • Jeff Azevedo – pipe making

  • Susan Moore – pottery throwing

  • Shelly Osburn – textile weaving

  • Rich Vollrath - coin ring making

  • Karen Hutchings – hand quilting and chair caning
