Experience the rolling hills and vineyards of Hermann during the second annual Hermann Plein Air Festival. Artists of every age and every skill level are invited to paint at approved painting locations from Saturday, June 8, 2024 through Friday, June 14, 2024.

On the evening of Saturday, June 15, 2024, artists are invited to participate in an art judging and silent auction from 2-7 p.m. at the Historic Festhalle on First Street in Hermann.

New for 2024: Welcome Reception at Stone Hill Winery on June 9, Marty Coulter Workshop at Adam Puchta Winery on June 10, and One-Day Quick Paint with Judging on June 11 (location to be announced).

Paint Hermann

Paint anytime between Saturday, June 8, 2024, through Friday, June 14, 2024.
Artists will be provided a list of approved painting locations at event check-in.
Additional painting locations are permitted with permission from the property owner. Simply call in advance or the day you plan to paint.
Artwork for Plein Air Judging and Art Auction are due Friday, June 14, 2024 by 7 p.m.
Host lodging is available for participating artists upon request (weekdays only).

Registration

Hermann Plein Air is for artists of all ages and all skill levels.
$35 registration fee
Prior to painting your canvas, you must check in at the Hermann Visitor Center at the Amtrak Station to pick up your artist packet and to get your canvas stamped. Registration details will come closer to the event date.
All artwork entered into the Art Judging and Auction must be event-generated and stamped. Each artist can submit up to three entries.

Silent Art Auction

Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m.
On the evening of June 15th, artists are invited to participate in an art judging and silent art auction at the Historic Festhalle on First Street.
All artwork entered into the Art Judging and Auction must be event-generated and stamped. Each artist can submit up to three entries.
Three winners will be selected. The first place winner will receive $1,000, second place $500, and third place $250.
The Hermann Arts Council will retain the painting of the First Place Winner.
70% of the silent auction proceeds will be awarded to the artist and 30% of the proceeds will be donated to the Hermann Arts Council.
Doors open at 2 p.m. for bidding and bidding ends at 7 p.m.
Hermann Mo Plein Air entries for judging cannot be entered into the Hermann Poster Contest.

Register by January 31, 2024 for the $25 Early Bird Registration Fee. Beginning February 1, 2024, the registration fee is $35.
